International Opportunities for Artists: Information Session at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University

On September 24, 2025, the University’s International Office organized an offline session to present international educational opportunities for students and faculty members of the Institute of Arts. The event was attended by representatives of the Institute’s leadership: Director Iryna PRODAN, Vice-Director for Curriculum Rostyslav PIDPALYI, Vice-Director for Social and Humanitarian Affairs Alona TERESHCHENKO, as well as faculty and staff of the Institute. The presence of the leadership underscored the importance of international opportunities for the professional growth of the academic community and confirmed the Institute’s support for the International Office’s initiatives.

During the session, participants reviewed the key regulatory documents governing international activities and academic mobility at the University. Particular attention was paid to the “Regulation on International Academic Mobility” and the “Regulation on the International Relations Office of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”, which define the basic principles and mechanisms of participation in international educational programs. Representatives of the International Office – Head of the International Relations Office and Director of the Institute of International Education Iryna MYHOVYCH, and Head of the International Education Sector Liudmyla OVCHAROVA – provided detailed information about opportunities for learning foreign languages at the University. They highlighted the English, French, and other language courses offered by the Institute of International Education, as well as preparation for international language examinations and obtaining certificates such as TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge English, and TestDaF, which are required for participation in most international exchange and internship programs.

The participants were also introduced to a wide range of academic mobility opportunities, complementing the presentation of regulations and language courses. The International Office provided information about prestigious international programs such as Erasmus+, Fulbright, and DAAD, which offer unique opportunities for the professional development of both students and academic staff in the field of arts. Special emphasis was placed on practical aspects: proper preparation of application documents, specifics of writing a CV, required language certificates, and their appropriate levels for different programs. The speakers also presented an overview of specialized grants and scholarships in the arts, which open extensive opportunities for study, internships, and creative residencies at leading foreign universities and art institutions with which Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has partnership agreements.

The event was organized with the aim of informing students and faculty of the Institute of Arts about academic mobility programs, grant opportunities, and prospects for international cooperation. These opportunities are offered by the University, in part, thanks to agreements with foreign partners. The information session marked another step toward the internationalization of the University’s educational process.
